I am kind of new to essential oils and have been trying them out for a couple of months.
I was doing my hair one morning when I dropped my flat iron. I went to catch it and got my thumb in-between the hot plates. I received a burn on the very tender part of my thumb and could smell the skin burning.
I grabbed my Lavender essential oil and rubbed it all over the burn. I noticed that I had a pretty big spot that was burned, although the pain went away after about 5 minutes.
I got busy with my day and forgot about my thumb until later that afternoon. When I looked at the burn, there was no blister, only a darker colored spot. The next morning that spot was totally gone.
Now fast forward 3 days, and I am headed on an all-girl trip with my girlfriends. One of the girls traveling with us wrecked her car. Praise the Lord, the girls in that car were not hurt. My friend, the driver did get a bad burn on her foot from the airbag, however.
We used Lavender essential oil on the burn. Within about 10 minutes the large, red burned spot had faded to a very light red, and the burning had stopped. The next morning the burn spot was unnoticeable.
Two of the girls who were with us on the trip are nurses, and they were so impressed. They said that they had heard stories about essential oils but had never seen them in action.
I am a true believer and just love my essential oils!
