Warning: Not all essential oil brands are the same quality. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that the oil you are using is made from pesticide-free plants grown in optimal conditions. Also, the brand should be a 100% pure, high-quality essential oil that does not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask trusted friends to find a brand that is reputable.

My Palomino horse has had a fungal skin condition called "scratches" on his back legs for years. The condition is also sometimes called dew poisoning, mud fever, pastern dermatitis, foot rot, cracked heels, mud foot, grease heel, or greasy heel. However, my horse has it on the lower part of his back legs instead of the heel. I have tried many remedies -- some from veterinarians -- to no avail.

I just tried this recipe using essential oils. In a 2-ounce spray bottle, I mixed the following:

14 drops Melaleuca alternifolia
10 drops Lavender
10 drops Lemongrass
5 drops Peppermint

I filled the spray bottle the rest of the way with water and then sprayed the horse's legs twice per day. I have noticed marked improvement over the last two weeks. The nearly all-black area of the "scratches" is now almost all clear hair now.
