Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

My mother-in-law became very ill last week. She has actually been having problems for a while now, but we did not realize anything was wrong until recently. By her symptoms, we thought that she had a stroke (unable to converse, trouble walking, trouble with fine motor skills, and unable to remember things).

The emergency room (ER) doctor also thought that it was a mini stroke. However, after a couple of CT scans and an MRI, it was discovered that she did not have a stroke but instead has a large lung tumor and 3 -- possibly 4 -- brain tumors, all on the left side of her brain.

They immediately started my mother-in-law on steroids to reduce the swelling in her brain, which was causing a lot of her trouble with communicating and functioning. After more than 24 hours on the steroids, I noticed that she was getting just a little of her speaking ability back, but she was still having a tremendous amount of trouble.

It is so heartbreaking to see someone in that condition, having always been so independent and active to now being in a bed, struggling just to walk to the bathroom. And they have words in their head, but their brain refuses to form those words into speech.

My husband and I had to go home and leave my mother-in-law alone that first night in the hospital, but when we went back the next morning I brought some of my essential oils to the hospital with me, just in case I needed them.

One of the essential oils I brought was Brain Power. I knew that it is high in sesquiterpenes, which are helpful for boosting oxygen production in the brain.

I knew that whatever was keeping my mother-in-law from speaking needed to be addressed by something the doctors were not using at the time. I was very reluctant to tell any of the medical staff about the essential oils, so I did not (in fear that they would make me take them out).

My mother-in-law kept trying to tell me something, but she simply could not get it together. And it never failed -- after several attempts, she would just sigh and say, "I can't talk right now," and completely shut down on us.

Later that night I just calmly said, "I have an essential oil I want to put on you. It might make you feel a little better." I never told her what it was or what I was hoping it would do because I did not want to persuade her in any way at all.

And so I applied a drop or so to her brainstem and her forehead. I asked if she could smell it on my hands and told her to tell me if she liked it. This way I was getting her to sniff it without saying, "Now sniff my hands for a while."

Then we just sat and watched Golden Girls. After about 30 minutes my mother-in-law started trying to speak, and this time she was actually able to get a few more words to come out. And she just kept talking!

Eventually she was telling me all about her bills, where they were, and which ones she needed us to write out and send off for her. This was what she had been trying to tell us the whole time!

My mother-in-law's speech was not perfect, but it was good enough that anyone would have been able to understand her. And she did not give up when she could not get the words out. I would say, "Just sit there, think about it, and let me know later." And she would say, "Yeah, okay." And eventually she would get back to it and find her words! So for the next day or so, whenever I could tell that she was having more trouble and getting frustrated, I would apply Brain Power to her again.

The steroids have definitely been working, and we have not had to use the Brain Power essential oil blend for the last couple of days. Right now my mother-in-law is doing absolutely great! I would not dare suggest to her to only use the essential oils at a time like this, so I want her to stay on her steroids.

She is home now, living on her own, and she looks better than she has looked in months! But she starts radiation next week, and we will be getting the biopsy results back.

I know in my heart that this burst of feeling great is going to be short lived for my mother-in-law, and I know my essential oils are going to be very important for us in the coming days. I am so very thankful that I had the intuition to bring Brain Power with me to the hospital that morning!

Like I said the other day, no one -- not one single person on the face of this earth -- will ever be able to tell me that Young Living essential oils are not genuine and do not work. I have had many successful stories to share since starting these essential oils this past February, but this experience has to be the most amazing by far!
