My daughter gets two to three cases of swimmer's ear a year. We always know when she has it because it is very painful to sleep on it. If we take her to the doctor, they usually prescribe an antibiotic and treat it like an ear infection.

This week when she said it was hurting, I decided to try essential oils instead of a trip to the Minute Clinic. Within two applications the pain was minimized, and within 8 hours it was completely eliminated!

I applied Lavender, the Purification oil blend and Clove essential oils all around the outside of the ear and behind, in front, and down the side of her neck to promote drainage of the fluids. I applied a total of 4 times in an 8-hour period.

Lavender:
Anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antiseptic.

Purification:
It is a blend of essential oils that have many of the same properties as Lavender. This blend promotes the discharging of mucus, thus helping fluid to drain off the ear. Lemongrass, which is a vasodilator is in this blend. It improves circulation and wakes up the lymphatic system.

Clove:
It is also antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic (among other things). I used this essential oil in a carrier oil to numb the pain.

We avoided antibiotics and any of the nasty side effects that can result from them.
Essential oils do exactly what your body needs them to do and no more!
