Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I recently met with a new doctor who recommended Cinnamon Bark extract for bringing down high blood pressure. Luckily, I had some Cinnamon Bark essential oil on hand.

I knew that essential oils are many times more potent than fresh and dried herbs. I quickly got to work making flax oil capsules with 5 drops of Cinnamon Bark essential oil in each and stored them in the refrigerator.

I monitor my blood pressure often and consume more drops as needed. I'm working on a maintenance program of 2 to 3 drops morning and night, and I am seeing positive results.

Of course, much has to do with stress. When blood pressure gets higher than I like, I add a product from my naturopathic doctor called Carditone. The two substances seem to work well together to make a difference.

I'm looking forward to reporting more positive results when I go back to the doctor in two months.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: hypertension,blood-pressure — "The ylang ylang oil caused a significant decrease of blood pressure and a significant increase of skin temperature. At the behavioral level, subjects in the ylang ylang oil group rated themselves more calm and more relaxed than subjects in the control group. These findings are likely to represent a relaxing effect of the ylang ylang oil and provide some evidence for the usage of the ylang ylang oil in aromatherapy such as causing a relief of depression and stress in humans."Link

4.Associated topics: blood — "D-limonene is a major constituent in citrus essential oil.... Recently, d-limonene has been reported to alleviate fatty liver induced by a high-fat diet. Our data suggest that the intake of d-limonene may benefit patients with dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia and is a potential dietary supplement for preventing and ameliorating metabolic disorders."Link
5.Associated topics: heart — "Myrtle oil (MO) exerts hypoglycemic as well as mild hypotriglyceridemic activity in diabetic animals. The reduction in blood glucose level may be due to the reversible inhibition of alpha-glucosidases present in the brush-border of the small intestinal mucosa, higher rate of glycolysis as envisaged by the higher activity of glucokinase, as one of the key enzymes of glycolysis, and enhanced rate of glycogenesis as evidenced by the higher amount of liver glycogen present after MO administration."Link
6.Associated topics: heart,blood-pressure — "[I]dentifying... the effects of YYA [ylang ylang aroma] on blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) is important in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of YYA. The present results demonstrated that inhalation of YYA significantly decreased the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Inhalation of YYA also significantly decreased the HRs in 10 leads.... In the present results, YYA caused a reduction of HR and BP, and a relief of the arousal level in healthy men. The present results show a sedative effect of YYA, and this study provides some evidences for the usage of YYA [as a] medicinal agent."Link
7.Associated topics: heart,hypertension,blood-pressure — "Aromatherapy... [consisting of] a blend of oils of lemon (Citrus limonum), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), and ylang ylang (Cananga odorata)... is effective in lowering systolic blood pressure and sympathetic nerve system activity... of heart rate variability."Link
