I awakened one morning about 2:30 needing to go to the bathroom which was unusual for me. About 30 minutes later I needed to urinate again and then noticed some low abdominal cramping. After experiencing getting up and going to the bathroom every 30 minutes for a couple of hours, I was aware that I had a urinary tract infection. By 7 AM, I was very uncomfortable and considered the Emergency Room which, for me, really wasn't an option! Juniper compresses on my abdomen gave the slightest bit of relief.
I remembered reading something recently about the therapeutic benefits of Cinnamon and decided to try that. By this time, I was having episodes of nausea and vomiting along with the abdominal cramping and urinary symptoms. NOT fun!!! The look of 2 tbsp of Cinnamon powder in a glass of water made me even more nauseous!!
It occurred to me that Cinnamon Bark oil would work just fine, so I put one drop in a tsp, added enough honey to cover and took that by mouth. 30 minutes later, I did it again and then laid down with a Juniper compress on the abdomen and fell asleep. I awakened two hours later (11:30 a.m.) feeling totally free of symptoms!
My past experience as a nurse, listening and caring for women with UTI's, gave me a whole new appreciation for Young Living oils, particularly Cinnamon Bark. My UTI was cured in less than 12 hours without pharmaceuticals and there was no followup yeast infection. I love, love my Young Living oils!!
