Purification blend helped relieve a sting

A few weeks ago, I was outside talking with someone before work and was stung on the arm by some kind of bee. It may have been a yellow-jacket. I didn't get a chance to see it more than a brief moment as it flew away. Because I was headed into work, I had my backpack with me, so that meant I also had my essential oils handy. I thought immediately of Lavender, but Purification blend also came to mind. I had just recently been using Purification as a bug repellent during hiking.

Anyway, I immediately applied Lavender first, then when it didn't fully relieve it, I also applied Purification. The Lavender helped a bit, but the Purification blend took the sting sensation right out of it immediately! The swelling stopped, the burning sensation subsided. I reapplied Purification a few minutes later when the burning/stinging started coming back, and again, it went away. I repeated application occasionally - maybe three or four times - over the next hour or two, then did not need to anymore! There remained for the day a small red spot where I'd been stung, but it did not swell up, itch, burn, or ache like it normally would. I think the Lavender was a nice start, and likely helped calm me from the surprise, decrease the anxiety (therefore lower my anticipation of pain), but if I had only one oil to put on it or recommend for such an injury, Purification blend would be the one! It was an amazing experience!
