My two year old granddaughter was experiencing extreme pain one night with her ears. Trying not to make an Emergency Room visit in the night, my kids called me to ask if there are oils we could try to get through the night.
I looked in the Gentle Babies book by Debra Raybern. A suggestion of an oil I had on hand was Melrose oil - dilute 1:10 and apply one or two drops all around on the outer ear, down the neck and on the feet several times daily. We used this remedy, and within seconds of applying it she stopped crying and said it was better.
Her momma kept this handy, and every couple hours she would wake up with pain, they would repeat the process, and she would sleep a couple hours again. This was a tremendous help to get through the night.
If you have children or plan to have children we highly suggest the book and use of essential oils during pregnancy, delivery, birth, growth, and forever!
