Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

My adopted grand-daughter has chronic Crohn's and ulcerative colitis and needless to say her immune system is damaged by the inflammation and the meds. To add insult to injury she broke out in a severe case of shingles.

I took her Lavender, Geranium and some V-6 mixing oil. Just opening the Geranium almost caused her to pass out. With a diluted mix of a few drops on a cotton ball, ever so gently she put them on the blisters that were all along her side, back and hip. The Lavender was for all over the rest of her to relax her, it was also diluted.

The next day the pain was gone and the blisters were drying up. I think it was 3 days and this horrid attack was over. The best news was that the pain abated so quickly she got the very needed sleep.

May all the powers of heaven and earth be a blessing of gratitude to Gary Young, and his continued inspiration.

Twenty years I have been blessed to know about the oils and been able to bless others.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: herpes — "The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]."Link
2.Associated topics: relaxation — "The ylang ylang oil caused a significant decrease of blood pressure and a significant increase of skin temperature. At the behavioral level, subjects in the ylang ylang oil group rated themselves more calm and more relaxed than subjects in the control group. These findings are likely to represent a relaxing effect of the ylang ylang oil and provide some evidence for the usage of the ylang ylang oil in aromatherapy such as causing a relief of depression and stress in humans."Link
3.Associated topics: neuralgia, herpes, shingles — "The patient was successfully treated with topical peppermint oil [for postherpetic neuralgia, a complication of shingles].... The authors believe this is the first evidence of peppermint oil (or menthol) having a strong analgesic effect on neuropathic pain."Link
4.Associated topics: herpes — "Essential oils from anise, hyssop, thyme, ginger, camomile and sandalwood were screened for their inhibitory effect against herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) [genital herpes]. A clearly dose-dependent virucidal activity against HSV-2 could be demonstrated for all essential oils tested. Chamomile oil exhibited a high selectivity index and seems to be a promising candidate for topical therapeutic application as virucidal agents for treatment of herpes genitalis."Link
5.Associated topics: relaxation — "[I]dentifying... the effects of YYA [ylang ylang aroma] on blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) is important in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of YYA. The present results demonstrated that inhalation of YYA significantly decreased the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Inhalation of YYA also significantly decreased the HRs in 10 leads.... In the present results, YYA caused a reduction of HR and BP, and a relief of the arousal level in healthy men. The present results show a sedative effect of YYA, and this study provides some evidences for the usage of YYA [as a] medicinal agent."Link
