Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

In 2006, as I was pouring hot water into a mug from a new kettle that had just boiled on the stove, the lid came off the kettle and a rush of steam burned the palm of my hand and wrist, covering an area of about 2 inches by 1 inch.

The pain was very intense, so much so, that I could feel a pain and aching in my baby finger and fourth finger and it hurt to close my hand.

I immediately grabbed the LavaDerm and sprayed it on, making my skin feel a bit cooler, then I found my Lavender oil and applied 2 drops, gently rubbing it in. The heat and the pain was still very intense, so I placed my hand over a bag of frozen peas hoping this would intensify the action of the Lavender oil.

The pain returned after a few minutes, so I repeated the process with the LavaDerm and Lavender oil and then placed my hand back on the bag of frozen peas. I repeated this process again using LavaDerm and Lavender oil, every 5 minutes for the next 2 hours, as the pain continued to be very strong, spreading up to my fingers.

I noticed that the size of the burn was diminishing, and one area looked like a flat blister. I was still in so much pain that I was beginning to wonder how I would be able to sleep through the night!

At 6:00 pm just about 2 hours later, I had to go to my office downstairs to do some work, and as I went downstairs, I carried the Lavender oil and the frozen peas, applied the oil one more time and started working. Suddenly, the pain was gone!!!

I noticed that the skin that had been burned was a light pink, and looked a bit dry. Most of us know that some of the oils can dry out skin. I continued to work for about 15 minutes, and the pain did not return, although I did have a very minor twinge.

This morning, a small area of my skin is still slightly pink, my skin is fine, no longer dry and I have absolutely no pain! I am so grateful for these oils!!

2.Associated topics: burns — "Melaleuca Alternifolia [tea tree] Hydrogel... was compared with tap water as a coolant following application onto a fresh, deep, partial-thickness hot water burn.... Effective cooling of the burn wound and an increased rate of wound healing was achieved by both repeated tap water compresses and by immediate or delayed application of Melaleuca Hydrogel. Cooling is an effective means to reduce tissue damage and increase wound healing."Link
