I have had a skin condition on my scalp for years. I recently had it tested and the Dr said it was seborrheic dermatitis and not psoriasis or eczema. I had red 'spots' all over my scalp; these spots would flare and get raised and would burn, then when scratched or touched, would flake. It produced embarrassing dandruff and very painful, especially after washing my hair.
I have tried many different over-the-counter treatments to no avail. Eventually I realized all the toxic substances that are in all the shampoos and skin care products so I quit using them and went to all natural, organic products. I also fasted and cleansed my body with rehemorgen and a drink with cayenne pepper, real maple syrup & fresh Lemon juice.
When I washed my hair I would use my Young Living oils - Joy seemed to help the best. I also tried Peppermint, Lemongrass, Purification and Thieves. However, nothing took away my symptoms.
One day I read that Palmarosa is used to regulate sebum production in skin.. so I ordered it and tried it. I added a couple drops to my shampoo, scrubbed, let sit for few minutes, then rinsed off, followed by V-6 or grapeseed oil with a few drops of Palmarosa and Peppermint. This I would massage into my scalp, paying special attention to the hairline where my 'breakouts' were worst.
I did this at least once per day for the first week then 4-7 times the following week. Then I noticed that my symptoms were gone! No red welts all over my head, no pink patches of where the flare-ups occur, no dandruff, no itching, no burning.. I even checked w/ my hair stylist at my last appointment and she confirmed that there were no areas of concern anywhere on my head that she could see. What a blessing!
I've struggled with this problem for years and nothing seemed to help until I tried Palmarosa. It's been about 4-5 weeks now & I maintain my good scalp condition by using Palmarosa and sometimes Peppermint and/or Joy at least once per week, sometimes twice. It feels weird to be symptom free and not have so much pain on my scalp! I love working with Young Living oils - it's like Christmas when I get to try a new oil! Thank God for these wonderful oils!
