Melrose for gash on foot

My son, then 7, was playing in the creek near our home and stepped on something sharp. He had a 1' long, 1/4' deep gash in his heel. We washed it off with soap and water (who knows what was in that creek water!) and let it bleed to cleanse it, then dropped a generous amount of Melrose into the wound and taped a gauze pad on it. We changed the dressing daily and put Melrose into it twice a day. It healed quickly, with no infection and he was off and running in no time!! Melrose saved the day again!!
