Ok, I don't know the technical name, and niether did my son's two pediatricians, one internal MD, and two infectious disease MDs. My son was adopted from Ethiopia, and he brought home with him a horrible oozing scalp condition. It tested positive for staph, but that was far from the answer.
We tried antifungals (topical & by mouth), antibiotics (topical & by mouth), medicated creams and shampoos, all to no avail!
I was invited to a Young Living meeting (my first) and immediately bought the beginner's kit, in an effort to start my own essential oil medicine cabinet. I had learned that Frankincense is a natural antiobiotic, and that Tea Tree is a natural anti-fungal, among many other healing properties for the skin.
I began by placing one drop of each on his scalp twice a day. (the area covered nearly the entire top of his head, was soggy, oozing puss and blood. Within 10 days his scalp was completely clear! I brought him to his infectious disease MD and he was AMAZED!! And it has not returned :-)
