Warning: Not all essential oil brands are the same quality. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that the oil you are using is made from pesticide-free plants grown in optimal conditions. Also, the brand should be a 100% pure, high-quality essential oil that does not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask trusted friends to find a brand that is reputable.
My pre-schooler had diarrhea for several days., at least Tue-Thu. of a week in September 2008. I wondered what she was eating that might be causing this, or if she had picked up a virus.
A friend brought to my attention that she might be allergic to the amoxicillin she was prescribed by our pediatrician the previous Wed. for her sinus infection. I considered what she said and recalled that my husband and his family members are allergic to penicillin. I did not administer her amoxicillin that Friday and instead spoke to the doctor's office about my concerns. The doctor consented for her to end her 10-day prescription and start a new prescription with azithromycin.
Zoe felt so much better that Friday morning and afternoon when we took the break from her prescription. I had hope that both her sinus infection and her sore bottom, not to mention fear of going to the bathroom, could be a thing of the past.
We started azithromycin Saturday, but by that evening she had loose stools, followed by diarrhea. The redness around her anus also returned.
I couldn't bear to give her any meds Sunday and gave her a 24-hour reprieve. I'd either have to call the doctor's office again Monday or find something else. But what?
I researched testimonials for diarrhea here and found one by a mom whose son got Cryptosporidiosis, a water-borne parasite that infected the water park near their home where he'd played. It gave him diarrhea for days. His doctors said there was nothing they could do and just to keep him hydrated.
She looked up in his condition in the Essential Oil Desk Reference found a recommended oil blend. She had the blend shipped to her overnight, used and saw nearly immediate relief. I reasoned that it might work for my preschooler too.
With hesitance I resumed her azithromycin Monday. Same old story. Diarrhea, distress, fear. She was to take it twice a day, so before her second dose I rubbed DiGize in V-6 Mixing oil generously over her abdomen and lower spine. The subsequent bowel movement was only slightly loose.
I applied DiGize to her in the same way that night and Tuesday morning. No loose stools or diarrhea Tuesday. No more loose stools or diarrhea period.
We were able to finish the administration of this antibiotic only by simultaneously using the DiGize to prevent her allergic reaction. She hasn't been prescribed medications in the penicillin family since and we've used DiGize to nip the intestinal flu in the bud too.
