In my early 30's I began experiencing chronic and debilitating ear, sinus and tooth pain. The pain would move around my face, and got worse. I had antibiotics to try and cure the sinus. My dentist would be forever checking my teeth and finding nothing wrong. The doctor would look in my ears and find no infection. Eating was incredibly painful, I felt like I had tooth decay in all my teeth and then it would move to my ear, or jaw.
In 2002 - 2003 the pain became more and more intensive until the point where I could only lie very still in bed. The breeze from the fan or the noise from children was magnified in intensity and I was trapped in room. Finally I was diagnosed as Trigeminal Neuralgia and told there was no cure and as i had allergies to a large range of medications I had no treatment options.
The pain was so intense in 2003 I was admitted to hospital on Oxygen to rest in isolation as I couldn't take it anymore and although I didn't realise it at the time, I believe the doctor thought I was at risk of committing Suicide.
Eventually I realised Stress was my trigger. Plus both my father and aunt had Bells Palsy, a condition of the cranial nerves. Acupuncture had successfully cured my father's Bells Palsy in four weeks so went for acupuncture too. This offered minor relief and dulled the pain enough for me to return to my normal life. I returned to regular self-guided mediation and lived a stress avoidance lifestyle. I also tried each night to avoid clenching my teeth and I relaxed my jaw as much as possible.
Still 6 years later in 2009 at the Gold Coast Young Living Conference, I was in incredible pain with Neuralgia again and the biofeedback device I used gave me temporary pain relief for a few hours at a time. I was now experiencing the level of pain that had previously seen me admitted to hospital. Again my allergies meant i had no traditional treatment options, I spent the majority of the conference sitting still and barely holding myself together.
I was determined NOT to let the pain hold me back and a few months later I was privileged to attend my first USA Young Living Convention, where Stress-Away was one of a number of new 'roll on' oil blends released. I purchased it immediately and applied it over my jaw, both upper and lower immediately the pain diminished. After just three days of applying the roll on before I went to bed and after my shower in the morning I had no more pain. I was incredibly grateful and I told everyone I knew, who nodded politely and while happy for me, had no idea of the incredible relief I had found from this little Roll-On blend called Stress Away.
Why does it work so well? As an Aromatherapist, I've considered this carefully. I believe it is the synergy of all the oils in this blend working together to soothe and heal the nerves and tissue. In the intervening years, as soon as I feel a twinge of pain or a flicker of a nerve, I reach for the Stress Away and apply. I carry one in my handbag, and I normally go through at least one Stress Away a month as I can't stop myself helping other whenever I'm out and about. From rolling it on someone's shoulder or neck to relieve neck ache, or in a figure eight on their temples to relieve a headache, or even around the ears and jaw for TMJ pain. Stress-Away for me is my number one choice for Nerve related pain, and with everyone's nerves on edge these day, I believe it is Young Living's number 1 Product.
Where did I put the Stress-Away to relieve my Neuralgia? I roll the Stress-Away on the tops of my shoulders, each side of neck, in a circle around my ear, jaw bone from TMJ to chin, both top and bottom jaw and from the back of the neck straight up the hairline and them out to the top of the ear using my fingers to gently rub the oil in. You can use it under make-up in the morning or apply after your night cream just before sleep. If, after 20 minutes I feel a twinge of pain somewhere else, like in the middle of my chin, it may be because I've missed a spot, so I roll Stress-Away on the sore spot.
For maximum effect you need to do this for 3 nights and mornings, and everyone I have told is in much less pain by the fourth day. Maintenance program is then each night for 10 days and then just using night and day for another two days, as soon as you feel the twinges returning.
This has worked for EVERY PERSON I HAVE TOLD. If you know anyone with Trigeminal Neuralgia, nerve pain, trapped nerve etc please share my story with them and contact me if you need any more information. Trigeminal Neuralgia is called Suicide Disease because the number of people who commit suicide due to the pain intensity and now you know something that may help. Please as a community service please share with others. Also works for Migraines.
