Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. When I start to feel achy, sore throat and run down in ways that let me know I might be catching a cold or the flu I use the following treatments.

1) At the on-set I rub 2-3 drops of Immupower on my chest/lung area. I dilute it with a couple of drops of vegetable oil (V-6 or olive oil) to help with the absorbancy so the oils don't evaporate before being absorbed into the skin. I do this twice a day

2) I put 1-2 drops of Frankincense oil in a vegetable capsule and take if after a meal or with food. I do this 2-3 times daily. Make sure not to prepare the caps ahead of time as the oils will melt the caps if left inside too long before being taken.

3) Once I seem to be over the worst of the cold/flu, I switch to Clary Sage oil on the chest area diluted with vegetable oil as above. 1 to 2 times daily. I continue with the Frankincense but less frequently.

Using the above combinations I seem to recover much more quickly and my symptoms are much less severe. I often don't even get a runny nose! The combination above is my tried and true method for myself and the clients I work with.
