When a friend first introduced the oils to me I was a skeptic... but after last evening's episode of sore throat and fever, there is no denying that there is something special in these oils.

I had a bad sore throat in the afternoon which i used 1 drop of Thieves and applied it at the back of the throat. It momentarily relieved the pain then. However, my sore throat got worse in the evening. That was where i found myself coming to this website to source for use of which oils to help me with pain. Testimonies i read shared about gargling with 5 drops of Thieves in a cup of water and applying Thieves directly every half hour. I did these applications just before bedtime and drank a cup of water mixed with 4 drops of Lemon. It did relief the pain and dryness of throat i felt before bedtime but i awoke 2 hours later breaking into a fever with a temperature of 38.4 Degree Celsius.

I went back to this website again to see which oil could be used for my condition. That was where I used 1 drop of Thieves directly at the back of my throat and 2 drops of Thieves massaged onto my feet. After about 2 minutes, i used 3 drops of Peppermint on my feet. I also consumed 4 drops of Lemon mixed with 2 cups of water.

I awoke every two hours and repeated the above process. I also applied Peppermint at the base of my head (this was only after the 2nd time i woke up as i was still running a fever). The fever started to go down after the 2nd application to about 38.1 Degree Celsius. Thereafter i slept 4 hours until morning and typing this important experience down.

I am repeating this process again now even though my temperature reading is only 37.2 Degree Celsius.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time."Link
2.Associated topics: fever-/-febrile -/-temperature — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
3.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "Streptococcus pyogenes [strep] plays an important role in the pathogenesis of tonsillitis.... [T]hyme, cinnamon, lemongrass, tea tree, lavender, oregano, clove, palmarosa, or cajeput [melaleuca] EOs [essential oils] are known to be active against Streptococcus pyogenes, while oregano, basil, mint [peppermint], rosemary, and lavender EOs are known to inhibit another Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus [staph].... We showed that cinnamon presented the higher activity against S. pyogenes compared to the other EOs tested.... 14 [essential oils] showed antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes.... Among them Cinnamomum verum [cinnamon bark], Cymbopogon citratus [Xiang Mao], Thymus vulgaris CT thymol [thyme], Origanum compactum [oregano], and Satureja montana [Mountain Savory] essential oils exhibited significant antibacterial activity. The in vitro results reported here suggest that, for patients suffering from bacterial throat infections, if aromatherapy is used, these essential oils, considered as potential antimicrobial agents, should be preferred."Link
4.Associated topics: fever-/-febrile -/-temperature — "Burn Healing Potential of Nigella sativa seed oil in rats.... Nigella sativa L. (Black cumin) has shown a broad spectrum of pharmacological effects like antipyretic [fever reducing], analgesic [pain reducing], anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.... The present study suggests the burn wound healing action of seeds may be due to anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of major compounds in the oil."Link
5.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "[T]he antibacterial activity of lemongrass oil (LG) and its major components (citral, geraniol, and myrcene) against four strains of clinically isolated bovine mastitis pathogens (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Bacillus cereus, and Escherichia coli).., as well as their activity on S. aureus biofilm formation [were investigated].... [T]hey inhibit S. aureus biofilm formation and exhibit effective killing activities on preformed biofilms."Link
