Lavender oil helped the burn on my thumb

I was using a glue gun, upholstering the inside of a flute case 3 years ago. I accidently spilled some hot glue all over the pad of my left thumb. Not thinking, I stuck it under cold running water and thought of what to do next. Next I got an ice cube and stuck it on the burned area. By the time the cube melted the burn hurt just as much and now the throbbing pain was kicking in. There was a blister forming the size of a quarter, and the pain was becoming intense. Just then I remembered that Lavender worked well on burns, so I put several drops on the blister and gently rubbed them in. Within 30 seconds the pain was entirely gone, and within a minute the blister/swelling had reduced to an area the size of an eraser head.
