Buyer beware.

I tried some therapeutic grade Lemongrass oil for my underactive thyroid.

After 2 days of putting one drop on my thyroid gland, I felt a 'shift' and my symptoms of sore throat, allergies, pain in toes and fingers and constant tiredness were gone.

I have been using this oil for over a year now and feel great!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: hormones — "Therapy with beta-caryophyllene [present in many essential oils] may present a promising novel, non-toxic therapeutic option for patients with endometriosis."Link
2.Associated topics: sore-throat — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time."Link
3.Associated topics: hormones, fatigue, depression — "After inhalation of clary sage oil, cortisol levels were significantly decreased.... Thyroid stimulating hormone was also reduced.... Clary sage oil has antidepressant-like effect...."Link
4.Associated topics: fatigue, depression — "Lavender, mint [peppermint], orange, rose, chamomile, rosemary, and sage were used.... Depression levels in the touch-music-aroma therapy group... showed a larger decrease than in the... control groups [that did not include aromatherapy].... [FMS] symptoms such as restless sleep, headache, morning fatigue, exhaustion, feeling like crying, and bowel complaints were also significantly reduced."Link
5.Associated topics: seasonal-allergies — "The lemon-based nasal spray [containing Lemon, Melaleuca Quinquenervia, and Ravintsara] was a good alternative to conventional medicine for the treatment of perennial [pet dander, dust mites] and seasonal allergic and vasomotor rhinopathy."Link
6.Associated topics: sore-throat — "Streptococcus pyogenes [strep] plays an important role in the pathogenesis of tonsillitis.... [T]hyme, cinnamon, lemongrass, tea tree, lavender, oregano, clove, palmarosa, or cajeput [melaleuca] EOs [essential oils] are known to be active against Streptococcus pyogenes, while oregano, basil, mint [peppermint], rosemary, and lavender EOs are known to inhibit another Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus [staph].... We showed that cinnamon presented the higher activity against S. pyogenes compared to the other EOs tested.... 14 [essential oils] showed antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes.... Among them Cinnamomum verum [cinnamon bark], Cymbopogon citratus [Xiang Mao], Thymus vulgaris CT thymol [thyme], Origanum compactum [oregano], and Satureja montana [Mountain Savory] essential oils exhibited significant antibacterial activity. The in vitro results reported here suggest that, for patients suffering from bacterial throat infections, if aromatherapy is used, these essential oils, considered as potential antimicrobial agents, should be preferred."Link

8.Associated topics: depression — "Beta-Caryophyllene [component of cannabis, clove, copaiba], a CB2 [cannabinoid] receptor agonist produces multiple behavioral changes relevant to anxiety and depression in mice.... these preclinical results suggest that CB2 receptors may provide alternative therapeutic targets for the treatment of anxiety and depression. The possibility that BCP may ameliorate the symptoms of these mood disorders offers exciting prospects for future studies."Link
