Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I am amazed that this works... I noticed 2 small bumps under the skin on my lip late in the night, so applied 1 drop of Lavender oil. I could tell I was going to have big sores.

After I applied the oil, I went back to bed and woke up later and applied another drop of oil. I never had any itching like normal fever blisters/cold sores.

Later that day I noticed that pus had risen to the top of the sores, which normally takes a few days if I let things clear up on their own. So I applied another drop that day and then again at night.

I woke up next morning and the pus was gone and the sores hadn't increased in size.

As of day 3 you cannot even tell I had anything there. I still feel one bump under my lip, but it cannot be seen it at all.

I have had problems with fever blisters my whole life and I always have sores for weeks at a time. I nipped the growth in the bud and never had any itching or pain.

I love Lavender and just had to share this!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: virus,herpes,cold-sores-/-fever-blisters — "The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]."Link
2.Associated topics: virus — "Taken together, we found an essential oil blend [Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary] notably attenuates influenza virus PR8 infection in vitro via inhibition of viral protein synthesis at the post-transcription level. The lack of toxicity and potent specific inhibition ability make the essential oil a possible antiviral drug for influenza virus proliferation control and treatment."Link
3.Associated topics: herpes — "The patient was successfully treated with topical peppermint oil [for postherpetic neuralgia, a complication of shingles].... The authors believe this is the first evidence of peppermint oil (or menthol) having a strong analgesic effect on neuropathic pain."Link
4.Associated topics: itching-(Pruritus) — "[T]ea tree oil seems to be a more effective anti-eczematic agent than zinc oxide and clobetasone butyrate...."Link
5.Associated topics: virus — "Tea tree oil (TTO) (Melaleuca alternifolia) has been used recently as an effective topical application for the treatment of skin infections due to a variety of aetiological microbial agents, including mainly bacterial infections. We detail... the successful treatment with TTO of a paediatric patient with warts on her right middle finger. TTO was applied topically once daily to the lesions for 12 days, with a successful outcome, including complete re-epithelization of the infected areas. The case highlights the potential use of TTO in the treatment of common warts due to human papilloma virus."Link
6.Associated topics: virus, herpes — "Essential oils from anise, hyssop, thyme, ginger, camomile and sandalwood were screened for their inhibitory effect against herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) [genital herpes]. A clearly dose-dependent virucidal activity against HSV-2 could be demonstrated for all essential oils tested. Chamomile oil exhibited a high selectivity index and seems to be a promising candidate for topical therapeutic application as virucidal agents for treatment of herpes genitalis."Link
