Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I have been breastfeeding for almost three years. In that time I have had mastitis, a breast infection, six different times. Four of them were serious with 104 degree fever and extreme pain.

The last two were cleared up within hours of applying a few drops of the Melrose oil blend. After a few rounds with this incredibly painful infection, I learned a few things about preventing and treating mastitis at the first sign of infection.

For me, I get mastitis from force being applied to my breasts, ie tight seat belts, bras, child kicking me or sleeping on my breasts. I noticed when my immune system is weak, I am highly susceptible to mastitis.

For prevention I try to get at least 7 hours of sleep, eat natural, unprocessed foods, drink lots of fluids, avoid refined sugars, and keep my stress level down.

With the first sign of redness, pain, soreness and a lump in one of my breasts, I take bed rest, nurse on the infected breast, apply 3-5 drops each of the Melrose, PanAway, and Peace & Calming oil blends.

A large glass of purified water, with several drops of Lemon oil added, is also helpful.
