I recently went on a "swamp tour" while visiting New Orleans. Afterwards, while standing on the bank of the bayou, I started having stinging all over my ankle and foot! When I looked down, it was covered with ants that were biting. I'd stepped in a nest, and they were really unhappy with me.
Fortunately, I had the Purification oil blend with me to repel mosquitoes, so I brushed all the ants away and immediately applied the oil all over. The intense stinging stopped almost immediately and there were no visible bites.
I was told by another passenger in the shuttle that they were fire ants. This man recently had a similar experience in Texas for which he had to take medication for a very ugly reaction.
