Ningxia Red for dogs

My mother's little Westie was experiencing an allergic-type reaction - fluid in the lungs, gasping/wheezing, lethargy, etc. The vet prescribed an antihistimine, then an antibiotic, which she was on for three weeks with absolutely no change.

I suggested trying Ningxia Red - I searched online, and found evidence of people giving Ningxia Red to their dogs, but no recommended dosages, so we did 1/2 an ounce of Ningxia Red with a little cooked hamburger in it to make it more appealing daily.
