Dog jaw discomfort relieved with lavender

We had a golden retriever who had suffered occasionally with what seemed to be a locked jaw. She was young, and now and then when she'd go to drink, eat or play with a toy, she'd cry in pain when she went to open her mouth. It was pathetic, and obvious that she was in pain.

We took her to the vet, and were told she had some sort of autoimmune disorder. They put her on steroids, which changed her personality, caused her to stop eating and cower in the corner in solitude...very sad! The next time she had a recurrence was the worst ever, and she was trembling, crying and hiding her face in my lap. All I could think of was to use lavender oil to help ease her stress.

I applied a little to her ear flap and paws, and within moments, she relaxed. The next morning, she was perfectly normal, apparently pain free, and the problem never returned.
