Surgeon Breaks Toe > Sees the Light

I recently began working for an association of trauma surgery doctor's. READ: Five very traditional allopathic docs who love to cut.

Last Friday, one of the docs came hobbling into the office with a broken big toe and clearly in pain. I thought about offering the Pain/Muscle Spasm Blend, and also very thoughtfully considered," Is this appropriate?" ... I am new here and just becoming familiar with everyone.

THE PIVOTAL MOMENT

I went back to the surgeon's office where he was talking with the head nurse practitioner, shoe off, foot propped up on the desk, big toe notably black and blue and misshapen due to extreme swelling. And here is exactly how I broached this gap between worlds...

"I noticed you're hurting. This is something I personally use, and it seems to help. You're welcomed to try it if you wish."

He snorted, "Oh ya, what is it?"

I answered, "This is an essential oil blend formulated to relieve symptoms and swelling."

An undisguised smirk spread across his face - pure skepticism. My heart pounding, my face blushing red, (gulp) but I immediately responded, "And if it works... you won't be laughing!"

With that he surrendered - "SURE I'll try anything, what do I do!"

Please note that I gave HIM the roll on and directed him to coat the area, even that light touch was excruciating, but he did as suggested, the head nurse practitioner witnessing the exchange, and I returned to the front office.

THE EPIPHANY

Ten minutes later, an astounded surgeon appeared - "HEY, what the heck is that stuff? I hate to admit it, but it WORKED!" (Woo HOO!) He further admitted that he had no concept how such a thing could possibly work. And honestly, I didn't say a lot... I have waited a long time for this moment and small doses work just fine for a paradigm shift. All the co-workers were watching with fascination, many of them asking what is that stuff... and where can I get it? And I could see some serious mental wheels spinning everywhere.

Instead, I asked if he would like a few more oils layered on the area to improve on the odds? I then offered Lavender and Peppermint for him to layer over the area. He marveled at how the swelling had clearly reduced and he was astounded at the tangible relief of the additional oils. Then off he went to surgery.

A few hours later, a truly bewildered surgeon appeared again and displayed a nearly normal sized toe and ball joint, the deep black bruising mostly red now and moving out. I offered another layer of the three oils, saying only that it was going to be a long weekend, and at least this would help.

NOW ABOUT THOSE VOO DOO OILS!

The following Monday when the surgeon appeared he strode directly toward me and announced loudly, "Now about those VOO DOO oils... it pains me to admit this, but they really WORKED!" I asked to see the toe, which had no swelling or bruising, though he had been on it alot during the weekend. Only a small amount of bruising had settled into the surrounding area.

He looked up and said, "So how much do those Voo Doo oils cost, and where can I get some!" I offered to tack them onto an order already in the works, we agreed on Lavender, Peppermint and the Pain/Muscle Spasm Blend. In the meantime, I offered for him another dose of oils. After applying the oils, he proceeded to stand in the middle of the room, with everyone listening as he narrated how the oils were moving in, tingling, then cooling and numbing the pain... relief appearing on his face. He smiled and said he couldn't wait to try it on his wife's chronic neck symptoms... and from what I could gather had been telling everyone about it.

As luck would have it, the oils arrived just as the surgeon was leaving for vacation. He was ecstatic! I also provided the essential oil reference book info on Peppermint, Lavender and the Pain/Muscle Spasm Blend, and pointed out the medicinal properties and uses, slipping in the Lemon info on the pathogens it neutralized by diffusion, He was fascinated, scanning the information, asking questions, still not quite able to wrap his head around it but open. I mentioned Oil of Benzoin being the base for the long time wound and surgery disinfectant that hospitals had traditionally used... and how Coumadin and other meds were derived from isolated compounds in plants.

Basically, my explanation was that these oils are the "pure healing plant chemistry, before science got a hold of them and started messing with nature." And I do believe he got it! Wee Ha!
