We found we were alergic to hot tub chemicals, we broke out really, really bad a year ago. Instead of getting rid of the tub, we turned to Young Living oils and are verry pleased!

Clean your tub, upon filling it, just add about 20 drops of Geranium oil. Soak your filter in Thieves oil, a couple drops in the bucket of water for a couple hours. Each time you use the tub, add a couple drops per person of the Geranium oil. We rince our filter weekley with a strong hose to keep dead skin out.
No other chemicals are ever added, we have hard water but, no build up in the tub.
