I dropped a 12 pound swivel on my toe on my right foot. I quickly pulled off shoe and sock hoping I would not find a bloody mess. I didn't but it was throbbing and hurting. I put lavender on my whole foot within a minute of the incident, it still hurt but quickly the pain was reduced. The swelling started and I could not move the large toe. I applied more lavender.
I got the toe x-rayd, and it was broken straight across just above the last joint, it was not mis-aligned so nothing else was to be done. I kept applying lavender. That night it kept me awake only briefly off and on. It bruised slightly but I could walk on it gently.
In a week I was walking normally and no more bruising appeared. Pain has subsided and I can wear casual shoes, no heels, I am just happy to be able to get around. I did not take any pain medication. I think if I had not had lavender it would have been more painful, and I would have had to use crutches.
