How lavender helps our dog at bath time

We have a four-year-old female Jack Russell Terrier named Cindy. For those of you who are familiar with this breed, you know that they are adorable and bouncy, but also a handful at times. When she becomes a handful, usually at night, we put a little bit of Lavender on the back of her neck and behind her ears, and it calms her almost instantly.
Also, when giving her a bath, getting her into the bath can sometimes be a chore, though when she is in the tub, she is happy to be there. Since we started putting Lavender and Half & Half in her baths, as we do our own baths, as soon as we put the Half & Half into the microwave to warm and say anything about Cindy's bath, she no longer takes you on a merry chase around the house. She follows you to the bathroom while you run the water, and sometimes jumps into the bath tub before you have even turned on the water. She often tries to drink the water, which is fine because Young Living's oils are pure, with no chemicals, so it is safe for her. She doesn't even want to get out of the bath when the water is all drained either.
Other things that I have noticed since we started using Lavender in her baths are, her coat is much shinier, she stays clean longer, and that doggie odor stays away much longer, not to mention the fact that giving her a bath is fun now that we don't have to chase her down and trick her out from under beds at times.
After her bath, once she is dried and calm, she falls right to sleep, so if you have a dog that likes to become a handful right around bedtime, I suggest a Lavender bath for your dog, allowing enough time to dry.
