My friend's mare had a foal recently. At a day old it ended up with scours/diarrhea. I checked my 'Essential Oil Desk reference' and it suggested Di-Gize oil blend.

I made a mixture of 3 drops Di-Gize and 10 drops extra virgin olive oil and put it in a small (needleless) syringe. I instructed my friend to squirt the Di-Gize mixture into the foals mouth and to take a mixture of 5 drops Di-Gize to 20 drops of extra virgin olive oil and rub the oil along the foals flank area towards the umbilical cord. She did this at 9:30am and by that evening the foal was having regular bowel movements.
