Hives gone with peppermint

For no apparent reason hives started to appear on different areas of my body a few years ago. Mostly they would appear on my hands and arms and continue to grow larger throughout the course of the day. They would always be calmed down in the mornings but not completely gone. I couldn't relate the cause to anything I was eating, doing or to any product I was using. I saw every expert imagineable and nobody could explain them or help me.

One day, purely by accident I applied peppermint oil to a couple hives on the back of my hand. A few minutes later they were gone! I continued to use the peppermint oil topically and within a week they were all completely gone. This was about 6 months ago and I haven't had a problem since. If I do see a small hive appear I zap it with the oil and don't give it another thought.
