Thyme relieved pain and swelling in broken toe
Author: Sheila Hemler Location: NY, United States Skills: Raindrop Technique Posted: Sep 30, 2008 Views: 885 Keywords: foot, toes, thyme
On Wed., Sept. 24, 2008 I was at work when I slammed my right foot into a mail cart and broke my little toe on my right foot First oil I thought of was lavender but I did not have any. I used Peace & Calming hoping it would stop the throbbing. The throbbing was relieved temporarily.
When I got home (5 hrs. later) I could see the blackness and the swelling was setting in pretty heavily. My toe felt like it was going to burst and the blackness was almost up to my ankle bone and creeping up to the third toe from the little toe. The throbbing was about to get the best of me. When I walked into the house, I grabbed my desk reference and looked up 'broken bones'. First recommendation was 'Thyme Oil'. I knew I had that oil so I applied approximately 3-4 drops, neet, on the swollen black toe up to my ankle bone, also applied the oil underneath the toes where it was black. The throbbing stopped immediatley.
About 30 minutes passed when I looked at my toe and the swelling stopped. A few hours (4-5 hrs) later I looked at my foot and the blackness had turned to a reddish blue. I applied it one more time before going to bed. The swelling and bruising was less the next day.
So 5 days later, my toe is almost back to normal. Still very slight swelling and a little bruising but it is faint. I was able to were shoes yesterday (Sun. and today, Monday). I applied the Thyme oil 3 - 4 times a day, neet. I have not had any throbbing at all since the initial application of the Thyme Oil. Not once did I take any type of pain reliever. The workman's comp. nurse wanted to know what I was prescribed for the pain and I said 'nothing'. I'm using Thyme Oil, she said' What'?? I explained to her how I used it. She was curious.
Actually, the day after I broke my toe, my foot felt good enough for me barn almost 400 bales of hay!! I hobbled around but it was very do-able. Pain free unless I wasn't paying attention when someone threw a bale of hay to me and I stepped wrong with my broken toe.
