Tick bites no longer itchy

I do get those nasty ticks on me occasionally. Usually after pulling one out and cleaning the area well...it would itch for a week or more causing a lot of discomfort. Now I automatically apply Thieves and/or Purification several (2-3) times a day and it heals up quicker and doesn't itch forever as before. I believe with MRSA, West Nile's etc. and all the new bacteria & viruses in our environment using oils is an effective defense against the big stuff but also helps that itchy irritation subside within a day or two rather than a week or more.
