In June of 2008 we were mowing weeds with a special bush mower. Some parts of our property have much poison Ivy and every year my wife and children get poison ivy. This year they immediately washed with Thieves Household Cleaner. I was stubborn and did not do it until later that night. My wife only had a very small patch of Poison Ivy on the wrist. I had it all over my feet and legs. Peppermint and regular washings with Thieves Household Cleaner stopped my wife's discomfort and her poison ivy did not bother her.
Within three days, using Peppermint Essential Oil three times a day, the visible part of poison ivy went away. However, I would generally itch within four to six hours until more Peppermint Oil was applied. Finally after two or three weeks, even the itch went away. Next time I will immediately wash my body with Thieves Household Cleaner after being around poison ivy.
