Help for hay fever

I get hay fever every summer and I have done for the last 35 years. Sounds terrible, I know, but for the last 10 years I have managed it with healthy diet and lifestyle and without the use of drug medications. My symptoms are now quite mild and they occur on odd occasions.

This morning I was on my walk when my eyes began itching profusely. When I reached home I began sneezing and my nose became blocked and runny. I quickly looked up the Essential Oils Desk Reference and grabbed the wintergreen and inhaled it from my palms. The itching subsided immediately. When the scent lessened I applied lavender and inhaled that. One hour later my eyes are still not itchy and my nose is unblocked.

I consume very little grains and dairy foods as a rule and I generally avoid junk food. I can tolerate these in very small doses, but when hay fever is present consumption of these foods can mean the difference between a good day and an absolutely terrible one.
