I am a 53 year old female who suffers with low-grade chronic depression since childhood and several bouts of Major Depression throughout my life. Anxiety is frequently present. I have tried many psychological techniques and several medical solutions including Prozac and Zoloft. Although the medicine increased my functioning, I longed for treatment without the miserable side effects. For me, this included daily headaches, gut problems, nervousness, decreased sexuality and numbing of feelings. I constantly took additional medication to treat the side effects. For example, pain meds for headaches, etc.

Two years ago, I consulted an alternative health provider who suggested significant changes in diet (no sugar at all and other drastic changes), as well as changes in thinking, and lifestyle. She also suggested I learn about Gary Young's essential oils and she told me my special oils were:

1 part Lavender to
2 parts Francincense

I use this remedy on the bottom of feet, wrists, palms of hands, ears, temples, hairline, underarm area and chest. I place cupped hands over nose and mouth and inhale deeply. Immediately, I feel relief. My emotions seem to become balanced, calm. The emotional pain stops. This pleasant state lasts about 2 hours. It is achieved even though I have not yet been successful at sticking to the diet and other recommendations. It is quite amazing that such an extreme change in mood and feelings can be achieved with these oils so quickly. By the way, many other oils seem to help as well when used similarly, but Lavender and Francincense are my favorite. I expect to use the oils as I continue to pursue the changes in diet and lifestyle as was suggested by my health provider.
