I had a horse that foundered and I used a hot compress on her foot because she got an abcess under the hoof from being foundered. I went and got an old inner tube and cut it in half. Before I put her foot in the tube I applied lavender, helichrysum and MelRose to the frog of her foot. Then putting her foot in the inner tube I folded it up and filled it with hot water next I put lavender, helichrysum, and Melrose using 5 drops of each in the water. After 45 min of sleeping with her foot in the tube she walked away with out a limp, before she could not walk on that foot. I never saw a horse trying to carry her foot in the air before, but thats the only way she could walk because it hurt so much. I also used Di-tone and Othro Sport to relax the muscles and Di-tone for the foundering.
