Lavender for a boiling water burn

I accidentally poured boiling water on my hand (from the knuckle on my thumb to my wrist) and after I rinsed it with cool water I poured 5 or 6 drops of lavender on it. The pain went away immediately but the area was still really red. I put 3 more drops of lavender on the area before bed and the next day, there was no burn, no blister, no red area - nothing. It was my first experience with an oil and it made a lasting impression.

The thing that really impressed me, though, was that about an hour after this burn I burned my forearm (I was doing a lot of baking that day and trying to do things in a hurry!) and wanted to test the oil. So on that burn I put only ONE drop of lavender on it after rinsing it in cool water. That burn took about 3 weeks to heal. So now I know how effective lavender can be for burns!
