Huge open wound on a horse

I discovered a 4 inch long open wound that was all the way through the muscle at least up to my second knuckle deep on the chest of my foal. Called the vet to look at it. We decided not to stitch and try oils for healing. I flushed it twice a day and filled it with Purification, clove and lavender oil. I used coconut oil as a salve. Three days later, it was looking a little weepy, so I added Thieves to my mix for infection. It began to heal almost immediatly!

After a week, I switched to melrose and lavender and Thieves and a drop of Purification on top to keep flies away. Two weeks after beginning treatmet, the wound was about the size of a nickel! The vet said to expect 6 weeks to heal!

After 3 weeks, the wound is a tiny scab the size of a bean! I was fastidious in cleaning this wound and kept it clean, but the healing that took place before our eyes was unbelievable! I used patchouli oil the last few days to reduce scarring and the site is undetectable now! Praise the Lord! I cant wait for my vet to see it. I also hope my little horse stays out of trouble!
