A.R.T. Skin Care for burn repair

One Thursday morning a 78 year old client, who has spent over 50 years in a wheelchair, called: ‘I think I scalded myself. Maybe you should put some oils on it.’ She is a 3 min. fast walk from my home. I grabbed the #3249 LavaDerm and sprinted over as fast as I could. She was dressed in heavy cotton sweats. It was probably 8 min. from the time of the actual spilling of the scalding milk until I saw the damage. Obviously a case for medical attention.

However, as she still lived at home with the help of scheduled Home Care; she was fearful they would take away her independent privileges and place her in Long Term Care. So it was “we and the Oils” or nothing. #3249 LavaDerm was sprayed on immediately. Within minutes, she reported the painfulness had subsided.

The extent of the wounds: One was approximately 1” x 6” on the inner thigh of the left leg; On the right leg there was a 1” circle and several splatters of varying sizes. The 2 larger burns were very deep. Obviously a case for skin grafting, but who was I to skin graft.

The first 3 days, we used #3249 LavaDerm and #3575 Lavender Oil covered with #3709 Rose Ointment 3 or 4 times a day. As bandages and tape seemed to inflame and blister the surrounding skin, we used a pair of silk long legged underwear as a covering during the day. Of course it would stick to the area and had to be removed carefully and washed in Thieves Household Cleaner each evening. At night, we left the area open, and the covers raised.

At one point, she suggested we use something called ‘Second Skin’ from the pharmacy. Within a couple of hours the burn was very inflamed and infected. We discarded that thought very quickly, and now had a chemical burn to deal with as well.

For one week, we kept the burns well lubricated with #3575 Lavender, and #3709 Rose Ointment. The small wounds were healing nicely. However, the large ones, though very clean and healthy looking were not getting any smaller. How could we skin graft without surgery, and something else to heal?

On day 8, her #3131 A.R.T. Skin Care System came. I was allowed to use the #5171 Night Reconstructor on the Burns. Later, reading the information, it was exactly what we needed in a dark area of the body. I returned in 2 hours to see what was happening. A MIRACLE! It was as if a light film of clear wrap had been place over the burns. I was truly amazed!

For the next 2 weeks #5171 A.R.T. Night Reconstructor was put on the burns both morning and night, along with Lavender and Rose Ointment [mostly the Rose Ointment was used to protect the burns from the cloth and make it easier to remove the long johns]. The area became slightly more painful as the new skin and nerves regenerated and filled in the space.

After 3 weeks, she decided she did not require my help now, and continued putting the #5171 Night Reconstructor on both morning and night. Every second day at bedtime, I would check in to be sure it was continuing to heal, which it was. In less than 6 weeks, the burn was totally healed, and only brownish on the skin as a very small scare.
