Warning: Not all essential oil brands are the same quality. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that the oil you are using is made from pesticide-free plants grown in optimal conditions. Also, the brand should be a 100% pure, high-quality essential oil that does not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask trusted friends to find a brand that is reputable.
My 10-year-old cat has done the same thing - kidney failure, with back legs so weak she could just pull herself to a stand and then collapse. That was 10 days ago. With knowledge that I had nothing to lose at this point with her health, I started massive doses of oils on her back. Initially she tried to pull herself away and hide.
I dropped on 6 - 8 drops of Lavender to start to balance her. Then I used the same amount of Cypress to increase her circulation. I did about the same with Peppermint to activate the previous oils. The next morning I realized I had not considered that she was traumatized by not being able to walk and the other cat was emotionally abandoning her. So I got out the Trauma Life and let her sniff. Then Joy for a minute of wonderful smells.
At that point, she did not try to escape from me. Since then I have been using the same oils on her back morning and evening. She simply lies still and lets me drop and then rub. I believe it makes her feel better. In two days she could walk with a limp for a few steps. After five days I stopped all oils to see what was happening and where she was physically. Then I started back again with oils. Now she can walk 30 feet before a rest and the limp has reduced significantly. She appears happy and purrs when I come to attend to her.
I have added Lemongrass, Grapefruit and Aroma Siez to the regime and sometimes Lemon when I get the "hit" to include it. Geranium seems to help with the grief of the situation. She smells wonderful, her bedding smell wonderful (not like a sick cat). I know that I have been giving her amounts used by humans 10 times her weight.
My gut feeling was that it was critical and I just had to go with my inner knowing, which dictated these generous amounts. The bottom line is I appreciate the improvement as much as she does. She is still when I come with the oils. When she demonstrates a desire to escape I will respect her wishes and cut back or eliminate the oils.
If I had Juniper and Clary Sage on hand, I would consider alternating with them, too. Hope this is helpful for your wee fellow.
