Thieves and honey for a sore throat

My son had a cold with a sore throat and was complaining about his scratchy throat at bed time. I put one drop of thieves in a tiny container and put in one teaspoon of honey. Mixed it very well and gave him maybe 1/4 teaspoon to lick off the spoon and told him to just let it 'melt' away not swallow it all at once. Within minutes the scratchy throat had subsided and he went to sleep. We stored the unused portion in the refrigerator with a tight lid on it. The next night he complained again and we just stirred the mixture we had made the night before and he had another little bit on a spoon and again had no more complaints.
