Ear ache and starting of infection

Every year it seems my husband gets an earache that developes into an infection that would take an antibiotic from the doctor to clear up and it would take 2 to 3 weeks to go away. It always starts out with his ear swelling closed. Well this time when he had the first signs of the ear infection, his ear began to swell shut, he put a couple drops of Thieves oil on the outside of his ear along the bone or tube running down behind the ear, and he also put some on his finger and put some on the inside of his ear (not deep in the canal). He did this in the morning and at bedtime. Within 2 days of doing this his ear was completely better, it never got any worse than when it first started and went completely away. This has never happened before, even the antibiotics didn't work this fast. Thank you Thieves oil!
