I bit my tongue really hard and almost pierced it

Recently, I was eating & not paying attention at how must strength I put into each chew. That changed when I bit down really hard onto the side of my tongue; so hard in fact that it looked like my teeth had pierced my tongue & it wasn't pretty!

Very quickly the bite site bruised into a silver dollar sized wound complete with some bleeding & of course some pain. I guess I was more scared than anything since I had never bitten my tongue quite so hard before. I didn't know what to do.

My only thought was I wonder which oil I might use to alleviate the pain & help kick start the healing. I pulled out a few of my limited stock that I thought might help: lavender, peppermint, Thieves. I was sure that one or more of these would help.

I called a friend & fellow oiler for his help. He thought that Thieves & lavender were good choices to use together. So I started right away & applied just a drop each of the Thieves & lavender to the wound.

Over the next few days I applied a drop of Thieves on the wound 3 to 4 times a day (I only used the lavender for the first application). By the 3rd day there was no sign that I had ever bit my tongue! No bruising, swelling, scarring or pain!!!

I called my friend to thank him & let him know how well Thieves had worked for me. Now I am sharing my experience with you because I know I can't be the only person to have ever had this type of injury; I just couldn't find anything on it myself when I needed it. I am glad that I have my oils & don't know how I lived without them before! Thank you Jeffery.
