We have been trying to help our 7-year-old son stop sucking his thumb at night. It has been affecting his front teeth, so we just knew that we had to get going with a plan over the summer.

He eventually stopped the thumb sucking. However, because it had been such a comfort to him at night for so long, my son no longer could sleep peacefully without being able to suck his thumb. He kept waking up in the middle of the night and just could not go back to sleep.
