I looked at the testimonials on Oil-Testimonials.com and found that Lavender oil helps with pink eye (a.k.a. conjunctivitis). I have tried it and have found that it does indeed work!
My daughter tends to get pink eye pretty frequently, but this time it was the worst that I have ever seen. She had the eye infection in both eyes, with one worse than the other.
So in addition to the essential oils that I had on hand, I also bought some "PinkEye Relief" homeopathic sterile eye drops by TRP. I used 2 to 3 drops of PinkEye Relief on each eye 3 to 4 times a day.
Each time I applied the eye drops, I also applied Lavender essential oil on my daughter's eyebrows, along her cheekbones, and behind her ears. After the application irritated her the first time, I diluted the Lavender oil with a little bit of carrier oil, and then it was fine.
The next day my daughter woke up with just a very slight redness in her eyes, and the swelling and redness all around the eyes was totally gone. I continued the same treatment that day, which was Veterans Day, so she was already off from school.
This morning my daughter's eyes were clear and bright, and this time she was truly ready to go back to school again.
I did take her to the doctor on Tuesday and picked up the medication just in case, but I never did need it. The doctor had said that my daughter could not go back to school until all the redness went away, which he thought would be Friday or possibly Monday.
However, with the combination of the homeopathic drops and therapeutic-grade essential oils that I used on my daughter, her eyes cleared up even more quickly than what the doctor had predicted.
We are so happy!
