Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

My husband got really sick last night. He was having chills while burning up all over. He said that he felt weak and light headed. I rubbed 2 drops of the Thieves essential oil blend with some coconut oil into each foot.

He said that his sinuses hurt as well, so I proceeded next to his sinus area. I rubbed Thieves into his temples, Peppermint across his forehead, coconut oil in a figure eight around his eyes, and Peppermint and Lemon on his throat and chest for his dry cough.

Later that night after the topical oils had a chance to work, I had my husband take a gelatin capsule before bed containing the following essential oils:

* 3 drops of the Citrus Fresh oil blend
* 2 drops Lemon
* 2 drops Peppermint
* Thieves (enough drops to finish filling up the capsule)

This morning when he woke up, his chills and fever were gone. His sinuses felt rejuvenated. As an extra measure, I rubbed diluted Thieves on the bottoms of his feet to help him along throughout the day.

I also used Thieves on both of my daughters' feet (ages 4 months and 17 months) so that they will stay healthy through this flu season.

Praise the Lord for his gift of healthy living through high quality yessential oils!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: influenza — "Taken together, we found an essential oil blend [Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary] notably attenuates influenza virus PR8 infection in vitro via inhibition of viral protein synthesis at the post-transcription level. The lack of toxicity and potent specific inhibition ability make the essential oil a possible antiviral drug for influenza virus proliferation control and treatment."Link
2.Associated topics: fever,temperature-regulation — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
3.Associated topics: temperature-regulation — "The ylang ylang oil caused a significant decrease of blood pressure and a significant increase of skin temperature. At the behavioral level, subjects in the ylang ylang oil group rated themselves more calm and more relaxed than subjects in the control group. These findings are likely to represent a relaxing effect of the ylang ylang oil and provide some evidence for the usage of the ylang ylang oil in aromatherapy such as causing a relief of depression and stress in humans."Link
4.Associated topics: sinuses — "The result for the primary end point was validated by the amelioration of the following secondary end points: headache on bending, frontal headache, sensitivity of pressure points of trigeminal nerve, impairment of general condition, nasal obstruction, and rhinological secretion.... In patients with acute nonpurulent rhinosinusitis, timely treatment with cineole [a.k.a. eucalyptol... found in eucalyptus, camphor laurel, laurus nobilis, tea tree, mugwort, basil, wormwood, rosemary, sage, and cannabis] is effective and safe before antibiotics are indicated."Link
5.Associated topics: fever — "Burn Healing Potential of Nigella sativa seed oil in rats.... Nigella sativa L. (Black cumin) has shown a broad spectrum of pharmacological effects like antipyretic [fever reducing], analgesic [pain reducing], anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.... The present study suggests the burn wound healing action of seeds may be due to anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of major compounds in the oil."Link
