I am a holistic practitioner, and one of my clients woke up one morning barely able to walk. She went to Accident and Emergency in a wheelchair.
She was very upset and rang me with the diagnosis: severe arthritis in the hips and osteoporosis. She was a keen walker and thought that she would not be able to go walking again.
Having reviewed the essential oils recommended for such issues, I realized that most of these oils were in the RC blend except Wintergreen. I then dowsed for her, and RC enhanced with 20 drops of Wintergreen in the bottle was a big yes, in addition to Idaho Balsam Fir essential oil.
My client applied both essential oils twice a day on her hips, and within a week she was feeling a result. After 2 months she stopped the Idaho Balsam Fir and continued with the enhanced RC After 3 months she was taking long walks again and still continues with the RC and Wintergreen.

|1.||"Many plant extracts that protect against the development of oxidative stress manifest clear antilithiasic activity [preventing the formation of or relieving the symptoms of kidney stones].... Evidence obtained to date supports a contributory role of polyphenols [present in essential oils] in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, some cancer types, and osteoporosis.... The results show an improvement of the renal function in some treated groups with an increase of diuresis and creatinine excretion due to polyphenols pretreatment. Our results clearly validate the ability of polyphenols to protect against papillary calcification of kidney tissue, consequently preventing the development of papillary calculi [kidney stones].... The collective findings to date support a protective effect of polyphenols on kidney tissue. Thus, considering that injury of papillary tissue constitutes the first step in the development of COM papillary calculi, the antioxidant action of polyphenols may contribute significantly to their antilithiasic action."||Link|
|2.||"Results of bone density, bone mineral content, bone tensile strength and histological analysis also showed similar trend of results, which supported initial observations of this study. It is proposed that hydroalcoholic extract of dried clove buds has bone-preserving efficacy against hypogonadal [hormonally deficient] osteoporosis."||Link|
|3.||"Common herbs, essential oils, and monoterpenes potently modulate bone metabolism.... we investigated several common herbs rich in essential oils (sage, rosemary, and thyme) and essential oils extracted from these herbs and other plants (oils of sage, rosemary, juniper, pine, dwarf pine, turpentine, and eucalyptus) as well as their monoterpene components (thujone, eucalyptol, camphor, borneol, thymol, alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, bornylacetate as well as menthol) and found that they inhibit bone resorption.... Our study demonstrates for the first time that essential oils and monoterpenes are efficient inhibitors of bone resorption...."||Link|
|4.||"We have demonstrated that Boswellia frereana [frankincense] prevents collagen degradation, and inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and MMPs. Due to its efficacy we propose that B. frereana should be examined further as a potential therapeutic agent for treating inflammatory symptoms associated with arthritis."||Link|
|5.||"Ruxiang (Gummi olibanum), the dried gum resin of Boswellia carterii (BC) [frankincense], has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain and inflammation for thousands of years.... The data show that BC extract has significant anti-arthritic and anti-inflammation effects and suggest that these effects may be mediated via the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines."||Link|
