Warning: Not all essential oil brands are the same quality. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that the oil you are using is made from pesticide-free plants grown in optimal conditions. Also, the brand should be a 100% pure, high-quality essential oil that does not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask trusted friends to find a brand that is reputable.

This weekend I got a strong stomach virus that caused vomiting, stomach cramping, and diarrhea. I also felt cold all over. All the water I tried to drink to stay hydrated just came right back up several times, and I vomited 4 to 5 times over the course of 2 hours.

After the first couple of times I started to apply a drop of Peppermint essential oil to the roof of my mouth and on my tongue. I also rubbed some DiGize essential oil blend on my belly and put a hot water bottle on top of it when I could lie down in my bedroom, where I was also diffusing Thieves essential oil blend.

My symptoms went away, and I was able to sleep and keep down my water. I didn't have any more symptoms! Although those 2 hours were rough, I think the essential oils may have helped cut the time that I was drastically sick.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1."Taken together, we found an essential oil blend [Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary (most components of Thieves blend)] notably attenuates influenza virus PR8 infection in vitro via inhibition of viral protein synthesis at the post-transcription level. The lack of toxicity and potent specific inhibition ability make the essential oil a possible antiviral drug for influenza virus proliferation control and treatment."Link
2."Essential oils from anise, hyssop, thyme, ginger, camomile and sandalwood were screened for their inhibitory effect against herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) [genital herpes]. A clearly dose-dependent virucidal activity against HSV-2 could be demonstrated for all essential oils tested. Chamomile oil exhibited a high selectivity index and seems to be a promising candidate for topical therapeutic application as virucidal agents for treatment of herpes genitalis."Link
3."The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]."Link
