I get silent migraines (a.k.a. migraine aura w/o headache, amigrainous migraine, isolated visual migraine, optical migraine, ocular migraine, acephalgic migraine) at least twice a year.
I experienced a silent migraine recently. First I get wavy lines in my eye and cannot see out of the eye at all. Then I start feeling a headache that later turns into a full-blown migraine.
This time I was getting ready for work. It was a busy time, and I could not fathom missing work because they needed everyone there.
I got out my Peppermint essential oil. I inhaled it, put a drop on my temples and forehead, and then put a drop in my hot chocolate.
After about 15 minutes, the discomfort had vanished! That was awesome. I went to work and only had a dull headache that left by later afternoon.
