My 18-month-old fell down the other night, and suddenly her mouth was full of blood. We wiped it out, and the bleeding itself stopped quickly. I saw that the inside of her top lip was cut in a few places.
I had read about Lavender essential oil maybe helping for healing and swelling, so once she calmed down I wiped a drop in her upper lip really quickly. She gave me a quick look like it tasted weird (and I am sure that it did), but that only lasted about 5 seconds.
My daughter did not complain about her lip at all. In the morning the cut was scabbing over, but there was some swelling. So I applied some more Lavender essential oil (just a drop) inside and out. About two hours later all the swelling was gone, and it never came back.
